Outdoor School
Camp Green Meadows is located in Fish Camp, California, in the Sierra National Forest just 2 miles outside of Yosemite National Park on Highway 41. The camp is situated directly next to a creek and has access to many trails branching out into the surrounding forest.
The outdoor school, initially called the Jack L. Boyd Outdoor School, celebrated its 60th year in 2024 and continues to provide outdoor environmental education programming for the Central Valley's 6th graders.
Today, the school hosts week-long residential outdoor education programs during the school year and rents out facilities to private groups for most of the summer. Through the outdoor school program, students gain hands-on experience of the outdoors while learning standards-based curriculum.
In addition, Camp Green Meadows is a proud early adopter of the Next Generation Science Standards and has been steadily working to update the curriculum and develop new classes to expand its scope.
The school is dedicated to providing high quality science programs to the communities it serves and looks forward to seeing you up here soon!
